Homestead Soapmaking - November 10, 1-5pm
Learn to make your own beautifully earthy soaps like the American pioneers! We'll discuss the history, safety, and basic chemistry of soap making, as well as, types of soap, ingredients, technique, fragrance, and natural color used by early American homesteaders. Each student will go home with two 16 oz batches of soap appropriate for home use; one goat milk soap and one traditional lard soap. Cost includes instruction, printed material, personal protection equipment, spatula, mixing bowl, and one 16oz silicone loaf mold. Light refreshments will be served.
Class begins at 1pm on Saturday, November 10 and ends at 5pm.
Space is limited to 8 students.
